ABOUT US

Established in 1942, the society is 68 years strong. Now based at its headquarters in Wrexham town centre, the society aims to put on regular productions, be it either musical or straight-play. The headquarters boasts dual-purpose studio theatre/function room, 2 bars, an extensive wardrobe, scenic and property workshop & storage and car parking for up to 32 vehicles. As a studio theatre the room can accommodate up to a 120 seated audience capacity, and a layout customisable to any desired function. As well as hosting its own productions and various touring acts and performances, the society puts on large-scale productions at the Stiwt Theatre, Rhos. The society's social committee also presents charity concerts and other events at our facilities.

Facilities

WMTS Studio Theatre is multifunctional and available for hire for any event. Musicals, plays, presentations, charity fundraisers, lectures - all are catered for. The facilities can also be hired for any function such as birthday parties, wedding or christening receptions, etc. We can provide technical assistance should you require it along with kitchen and wardrobe facilities. We have two bars, our main Bar and Lounge downstairs and a secondary bar located upstairs - on the same floor as the Studio Theatre - which we are able to open subject to your request. Our bar & lounge have an HD-LCD Television which we use for many purposes, including showing key sporting events at social gatherings and our regular Film Club.
